This policy sits alongside our Terms of Service. Nothing in it removes any right you have under UK consumer law.
Cancelling
You can cancel at any time, from your account page, with one button. You do not need to email us, telephone us, or wait for anything. Cancelling stops the subscription renewing. You keep your paid plan until the end of the period you have already paid for.
Your account is not closed when you cancel — it moves to Basic, which is free and has no end date. Your videos, your connected accounts and your posting history stay where they are.
Basic, and your first month
Basic is free, needs no card, and does not expire. There is nothing to cancel and nothing to refund, because nothing is ever charged for it. It is not a trial.
Your first month includes bonus posts and extra storage. That bonus is a one-off welcome, given once per account. It is not part of the plan, and cancelling and signing up again does not earn it a second time. We email you before it runs out.
Nothing you have uploaded is deleted when an allowance drops. If you end your first month above the ordinary storage limit, your videos stay exactly where they are and anything already scheduled still publishes. You simply cannot upload anything new until you are back under the limit.
Paid plans
Paid plans are monthly. If you cancel, the plan does not renew and you keep it until the end of the month you have paid for. We do not charge a fee for cancelling.
Posts you have scheduled inside the period you have paid for still publish. Posts scheduled after it are cancelled when the period ends, because publishing needs an active plan on the day it goes out. Strider shows you how many that affects before you confirm the cancellation.
If you cancel part-way through a month we do not refund the remainder, because you keep the plan for all of it. Your statutory rights as a consumer, including any cooling-off period that applies to your first payment, are unaffected.
Moving back to Basic
When a paid plan ends, the account moves to Basic. What changes is the allowance, not your content:
- Your monthly posts and storage become Basic's.
- Nothing is deleted. If you are over Basic's storage limit, your videos stay and uploads pause until you are back under it.
- X is not available on Basic — but any X credit you hold is not lost. See below.
- Your connected social accounts stay connected.
Your X balance
The X balance is not part of your subscription. It is money you add to cover what X charges Strider for each post you make there. Each post is charged at X's own price. £10 buys $11.00 of X credit; that rate includes Strider's handling margin. The minimum credit top-up is £10. X is available on paid plans only, which is why Basic never asks for card details.
- Credit is bought to be spent on posting to X, and it is not refunded automatically.
- If you leave Pro and would like unused credit refunded, email hello@getstrider.co.uk. We refund the unused part of what you paid, by hand, to the way you paid. Credit we gave you free is not money and is not refunded.
- Credit does not expire and stays on your account for as long as the account is open, whether or not you are subscribed.
- Moving back to Basic does not take your credit away. The balance stays on your account and becomes usable again the moment you return to a paid plan.
- If you would rather spend it down than keep it, ask us. We will keep X available on your account until the balance reaches zero, so you are never left holding credit you cannot use.
- Credit held against a scheduled post is returned automatically if you cancel that post, or if it fails.
- Credit spent on a post that went out is not refundable, because X has already charged us for it.
- If you delete your account, any remaining credit goes with it. Your account page shows the amount before you confirm, so ask us for a refund first if you want one.
If something goes wrong at our end
If Strider fails to publish something because of a fault on our side, tell us and we will put it right — including refunding the period affected where that is the fair answer. We would rather do that than argue about it.
How to ask
Use our contact form and enter the email address on your account. We aim to answer within three working days. Refunds go back to the card you paid with, through Paddle, who handle payments for Strider.
