Strider is a scheduling application for individual content creators. It publishes a creator's own videos to the creator's own social media accounts at times they choose. This policy explains exactly what data Strider accesses, how it is used, who it is shared with, how it is protected, and how long it is kept.

The short version. Strider stores the access tokens needed to publish on your behalf, and the videos and captions you schedule, until they are published. It does not read your messages, your followers, your analytics or your private data. It publishes only to the accounts you connect, and only what you schedule. You can disconnect at any time and everything is deleted.

1. What data Strider accesses

From the social media platforms

When you connect an account, Strider requests the narrowest permissions that allow it to publish. It requests no permission it does not use.

YouTube	Permission to upload video to your channel. Read-only access to your channel's name and ID.	Uploading is the core function. The channel name and ID are read immediately before every upload and compared with the channel you set up, so a video cannot be published to the wrong channel.
TikTok	Permission to publish video to your account, and your account username.	Publishing is the core function. The username is used to confirm the destination before each post.
Instagram	Permission to publish to your Instagram business account, its username and account ID, and the linked Facebook Page.	Instagram publishing requires the linked Page. The username and ID confirm the destination before each post.
Facebook	Permission to publish to Pages you manage, and the list and names of those Pages.	The Page list is shown so you can choose which Page to publish to.
X	Permission to post, and your account username.	Posting is the core function. The username confirms the destination.

Strider does not access: your direct messages, your followers or who you follow, your analytics or audience data, other people's posts, your email, your contacts, your location, or anything belonging to any account you have not connected.

2. How that data is used

Only to do the thing you asked for, at the time you asked for it:

Publishing. Your video and caption are sent to the platform you chose, at the time you chose.
Confirming the destination. Before every post, Strider checks the connected account matches the one you set up. If it does not, the post is refused and you are told.
Telling you what happened. Successes and failures are recorded so you can see them, and so a failed post can be retried.
Support. If you send a diagnostic report, it is used to investigate the problem you reported and nothing else.

Your data is not used for advertising, for profiling, for building any audience model, for resale, or for training artificial intelligence or machine learning models. Your videos are not viewed by us except where you specifically ask for help with one.

3. Who it is shared with

Your data is not sold, rented or shared with anyone for their own purposes. It is not shared with advertisers, data brokers, analytics companies, or AI services.

It is disclosed in only three circumstances:

To the platform you chose. Publishing to TikTok means sending your video to TikTok. That is the service working as intended.
To the suppliers who run our systems, strictly to provide the service — currently our hosting provider. They act on our instructions and cannot use your data for anything else. A current list is available on request.
Where the law requires it.

4. How it is protected

Access tokens

The tokens that allow Strider to publish on your behalf are stored encrypted, are never written to logs, and are never shown on any screen. They are transmitted only to the platform that issued them, over an encrypted connection.

Data in transit

All connections use HTTPS. Videos are uploaded directly to the platforms using their own published upload interfaces.

Your videos

Scheduled videos are stored only until they have been published, and are then deleted. They are not kept as an archive.

Diagnostic reports

The diagnostic report Strider can produce is redacted before it is written: access tokens, sign-in codes and secrets are removed and reported only as present or missing. The report is shown to you before you send it, and nothing is transmitted unless you choose to send it.

Sensitive data

Strider holds no payment card details, no government identifiers, and no health, biometric or special category data.

5. How long it is kept, and how to delete it

How to delete it

Disconnect an account inside Strider. Its token is deleted immediately and Strider can no longer publish to it.
Revoke access at the platform. Every platform lets you remove an app's access from its own settings — for example myaccount.google.com/permissions for YouTube. This works whether or not you still use Strider.
Close your Strider account by emailing hello@getstrider.co.uk. Everything above is deleted within 30 days.

6. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you may ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to how it is used, or ask us to restrict its use. Email hello@getstrider.co.uk and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

7. Where data is held

Data is held on servers in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area. Where a supplier operates outside that area, appropriate safeguards are used as required by UK data protection law.

8. Children

Strider is not directed at children and is not intended for anyone under 18.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be published at this address with an updated date at the top. Material changes will be notified by email.
